Because everyone here at Grandparentslink.com ; our staff , and our founders Leslie & Kay, believe that celebrating with your friends & family is as important as brushing your teeth! After all, a little fun makes for a more healthful life- so go ahead and get your silly on! You can certainly take advantage will all this advance notice we are giving you and plan great activities.


January 1: New Year’s Day 2018- A day to set goals for the new year ahead! New Year, New You!

January 14: Dress Up Your Pet Day- Throw your costume or favorite sports jersey on that pet of yours and take them out to show it off just like a true fan!

January 15: Martin Luther King Day 2018- A day to remember a man who stood for equality for our country.

January 24: Belly Laugh Day 2018- Get out the joke book and get your family laughing! No better medicine!

February 2: Groundhog Day 2018- will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow or not? Time till tell!

February 4: Superbowl Sunday- Snacks, Family & Football! Invite the everyone over to watch the big game!

February 12: Lincoln’s Birthday 2018- teach those little ones about our 16th president!

February 13: Mardi Gras Carnival 2018- Mardi Gras is French for “Fat Tuesday”, reflecting the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season! Eat up!

February 14: Valentine’s Day 2018- Get creative and make something special for that someone special in your life! Today is the day of LOVE!

February 18: National Drink Wine Day – We think you’ll know what to do on this day…. Drink up! Cheers!

February 19: Presidents Day & Washington’s Birthday 2018- Teach those kids about our first president and some history!

March 1: Peanut Butter Lovers Day – The options are endless! Whip up your favorite peanut butter recipe and enjoy!

March 11: Daylight Saving 2018- set those clocks forward an hour! Extra hour of sleep for you!

March 17: St. Patrick’s Day 2018- Get ready for those leprechauns! Kids will love searching for gold chocolates around the house!

March 30: Good Friday 2018- If you celebrate enjoy the holiday with family, if not…enjoy the day off!

April 1: April Fool’s Day 2018-calling all jokesters! Today is the day to play all those pranks and jokes on your loved ones!

April 1: Easter 2018- A day to celebrate with family. Not religious? Have a fun Easter egg hunt with the kids anyway! Who doesn’t love a chocolate bunny!?

April 10: National Siblings Day- Do something special for your sibling/siblings… their the only ones you get!

April 22: Earth Day 2018- Show the earth how much we love & respect her, plan a beach clean up or volunteer around town!

May 5: Cinco de Mayo 2018- Time for a Mexican feast! Enjoy a day of celebrating the colorful culture!

May 13: Mother’s Day 2018- Its that time to treat mom (or yourself) to a day of pampering! Show mom just how much you love her!

May 15: National Chocolate Chip Day- one of our favorite days! Whip up a batch of your classic chocolate chip cookies for the grandkids!

May 19: Armed Forces Day 2018- Take the time to show your respect for those fighting to protect our country!

May 28: Memorial Day 2018- Time to celebrate those who have lost their life fighting for our country. Truly a day to reflect & appreciate history.

June 1: New Year’s Resolution Recommitment Day- That’s right (!) you still have half the year to revisit old promises or  set new goals to reach.

June 14: Flag Day 2018- Set up a cute craft with the grandkids and teach them some of the background meanings of our flag.

June 17:Father’s Day 2018- Time to spoil DAD( or Grandpa!) Set up a day of fun things to do with dad!

June 18: International Picnic Day – Take this day to plan a fun family picnic! Could be at the beach, playground or even your backyard! Put some treats in a basket, grab a blanket and enjoy the great outdoors!

July 4:Independence Day 2018- Its not just the kick off of summer! Teach those little ones the meaning behind Independence Day! A family BBQ is a great idea too!

July 7: Chocolate Day –  I think everyone can love this holiday! Pick up your favorite chocolate and incorporate it into any meal! You wont be sorry!

July 30: National Cheesecake Day- Whichever flavor is your favorite, go out and get it! or make it at home! Cheesecake is a classic!

August 10: National S’mores Day – Perfect for any summer night, S’mores are a bonfire staple! Head down to the beach for a bonfire, or make them at home.. who doesn’t love s’mores!

August 21: Senior Citizen Day- Use this day to your advantage! Check your local stores for a senior citizen discounts!

September 3 :Labor Day 2018- Summer is coming to a close, get the family together for one last big hurrah and celebrate a great summer season!

September 5 : National Pizza Day- Its PIZZA DAY! Who doesn’t love pizza night!? Bring some fresh dough home and let the family create their own personal pie… everyone will love this!

September 9 :Grandparents’ Day 2018- A DAY ALL ABOUT YOU!  Let those kids and grandkids spoil you today, because you deserve it!

September 11: Patriot Day or September 11th 2018- A Day to remember those lives lost during the attacks on 9/11. It is important to teach children why we still stand united!

September 16: Stepfamily Day 2018- Today is for those blended families that are just like blood! Set up a big family dinner to celebrate the joining of two families!

October 4: National Golf Day – A favorite sport to many, take the day to spend it on the green, or enjoying it from your big screen!

October 8: Columbus Day 2018- Columbus the great! Enjoy this day off from work to teach the little ones what Columbus actually did!

October 25: World Pasta Day- Who doesn’t love PASTA!? Tonight’s dinner menu should consist of your favorite pasta dish! Simple yet scrumptious!

October 31: Halloween 2018- A fun holiday for the kids, so don’t forget to decorate the house with some spooky stuff to get the kids excited! You never know who will pop up for trick or treating!

November 4: Daylight Saving 2018- Time to set those clocks back!

November 11: Veterans’ Day 2018- today is the day to share stories of history’s veterans who have served for our country in the line of duty! We salute you!

November 17: World Peace Day- A day that should be everyday. Try and spread some extra peace and kindness today. You wont regret it!

November 22: Thanksgiving 2018- Gobble Gobble! Time to feast & enjoy family time around the table. What are you thankful for?

November 23: Black Friday 2018- get a jump on the holiday shopping! Black Friday deals will help you save on those holiday gifts!

December 2: Hanukkah- enjoy the festival of lights and get your best dreidel and spin away! Oh, and the kids love those latkes!

December 25: Christmas Day 2018- Merry Christmas to those to celebrate!
