Let’s play with dough…we have two great suggestions here for you to enjoy!

One is a wonderful and nutritious way to enjoy the art of making pizza sure to please, and the other is a creative Play-Dough to make at home with your little ones. Either one is a winner.

For the pizza dough:

Pizza DoughBuy fresh dough at your favorite pizza spot, and bring it home and let your grandchild create. Might not be a bad idea to buy some extra dough and even make your own little pizzas with your favorite toppings. Your little one will love tossing around the dough, oiling it with a bit of olive oil, and decorating each mini-pizza with her own toppings, like mozzarella, tomatoes, black olives, grilled veggies, and marinara sauce. Voila! You have created the most appetizing and fun experience.

P. S. When you buy your pizza dough, ask the chef to give you hints and pointers on working with the dough.

And, then there is Play Dough – make your own by following this recipe:

    • 1 cup flour

    • 1 cup water

    • ½ cup salt

    • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil

    • 1 tsp. cream of tartar

    • A few drops of food coloring (preferable organic food coloring) or 1/3 pkg of unsweetened “Kool-Aid”

Mix all the ingredients together in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, until the dough pulls away from the sides of the pan and becomes very thick. Remove from pan and cool until dough can be handled. Place on wax paper or countertop and knead 3-4 times. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
