Fun Holiday Dates to Remember

Jan 7, 2016 | Funtime

We love the idea that it’s a new year with lots of possibilities. Go outside the box and have some fun. Celebrate a potpourri of holidays all year long.

January 5th Festival of Sleep Day (Take the day for some extra zzz’s.)

February 15th – 21st National Pancake Week (get out the syrup because this week is gonna be extra sweet!)

March 2nd Read Across America & Dr. Seuss’s Birthday! (Have a silly celebration to celebrate one of the greatest authors to ever meet poetry.)

March 5th World Book Day (Hit the library or book club to pick up a new fun read.)

April 10th National Sibling Day (It’s a great time to be thankful for your sibling. But, most importantly get in touch with your siblings.)

April 14th International Moment of Laughter Day (To celebrate this special day, simply tell jokes or do funny things that cause people to laugh. A smile is not a good enough reaction. Successful participation in this day results in whole-hearted laughter!)

April 16th National Pajama Day (the day after taxes are due in the United States, it is time to let go of the stress and wear your pajamas to work)

May 6th International No Diet Day (This day is intended for us to appreciate the body we have. It encourages us to recognize that people come in all shapes and sizes… and that’s okay!)

June 8thNational Ocean Day (Remember: No ocean, no life. Make an effort to keep our waters clean for the life that lives underneath.)

June 11th National Corn on the Cob Day (Encourages us to celebrate and enjoy this tasty summer time treat)

July 7th Chocolate Day ( A perfect opportunity to eat your favorite chocolates in ample portion…do you really need another excuse to over indulge with your favorite food treat?)

July 19thNational Ice Cream Day (Go ahead and bring it on…celebrate this holiday date with any flavor, combination, or whatever ice cream strikes your fancy- after all, nothing is better than a warm hot July day and a cool treat.)

August 10th National S’mores Day (Celebrate this tasty summer treat. It’s appropriately observed in August…campfire prime time. Don’t limit your consumption of S’mores to the campfire. They are popular with kids year round, and can be baked in the oven, or microwave!)

September 5th Cheese Pizza Day (To celebrate Cheese Pizza Day, just order a cheese pizza. or, make a homemade one yourself.)

October 5th Do Something Nice Day (Go ahead, do something nice, anything nice. And, do it to, or for, another individual. It won’t hurt…we promise.)

October 28thNational Chocolate Day (Need we say more? Oh, what a delicious day it can be…go on and indulge. Chocolate is good for you!)

November 3rdNational Sandwich Day (Celebrate this special day by eating sandwiches at every meal! Consume your favorite sandwich. Better yet, be bold and daring…try a new sandwich!)

November 13th World Kindness Day (Encourages us to be kind to others, helping to create a nicer, better world)

December 21stLook on the Bright Side Day (We hope you see the light. Literally looking on the bright side may be a bit difficult today. It is winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. And, December days tend to be cloudy. However, we’re going to be optimistic, and fully expect you to succeed!)
