Who doesn’t adore chocolate chip cookies? Here is a recipe to make this all-time favorite just a wee bit more healthy. This is definitely one to enjoy !


  • 2 ½ c. unbleached flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • 1 c. packed organic brown sugar
  • ½ c. raw cane sugar
  • 1 c. softened organic butter
  • 2 free range brown eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 c. organic carob chips
  • A squeeze of agave nectar (for extra sweetness)


Preheat oven to 300 degrees

Combine flour, soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Mix well with whisk and set aside.

In a large bowl with an electric mixer, blend sugars at medium speed. Add softened butter and mix to form a grainy paste, scraping down the sides of the bowl. Add eggs and vanilla, and mix at medium speed until just blended. Do not over mix.

Add the flour mixture and agave and blend at low speed. Add carob chips and stir. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden.

Transfer cookies to a cool surface.
