Turkeyed out?… don’t fret, we all share the same quandary.  How about something easy, fresh—and nutritious to boot! For a different spin this weekend, here is a simple idea, which gives you and your family an opportunity to explore a variety of taste selections all under one-mealtime pleasure.  Go ahead, get creative, get inventive and let your imagination run wild.

Fruits & VeggiesSet up a mini salad bar on the kitchen counter, or the kitchen or dining room table, with a selection of beautiful fresh, nutritious, and colorful produce. This is a great way to get the kids to eat their vegetables, and gives the whole family control of their own meal. Who will create the most luscious salad?

Set out diced cucumbers, chopped celery, shredded or cooked carrots, raisins/cranberries, garbanzo beans, cherry or grape or chopped tomatoes, olives, cooked sliced beets, different lettuces (ie., spinach, romaine, arugula), edamame (out of the shell), chopped broccoli and cauliflower, artichoke hearts, pumpkin or sunflower seeds, peas, shredded red cabbage, sliced fruit, berries, you name it.
