Valentine Mail! How to Send a Hug…

Feb 8, 2015 | Latest & Greatest

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, this is a great project to do with your grandchild. Remember, Mom and Dad often get overlooked. And who doesn’t love a hug? Here’s how to make one giant embrace that is all about that lovin’ feeling!  After all, love is universal.

Have your grandchild lie on the floor with arms stretched out to either side. Grab a roll of toilet paper, or wide ribbon, and measure your grandchild across his/her body from wrist to wrist. Cut the paper or ribbon to desired length. Then, trace your grandchild’s hands on to construction paper, and carefully cut out the ‘traced’ hands. Tape the hands to either end of the toilet paper or ribbon. Voila!  You have one big personalized hug. You can even help write a personal note on their hands to that someone special.

The great big hug can be given to Mom, Dad, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, and/or grandfriend. To send by mail, carefully fold the hug, place it in an envelope and put it in the mailbox!
