an exclusive article for GrandparentsLink*
Want to do something extra special with your grandchildren right now? Art with your grandkids is pure fun. With all the social distancing, this is a terrific way to make that special connection.
Artist Shelley Levy puts together family zoom art classes to bring grandparents and grandchildren together for a creative, shared experience. These intergenerational collaborations are about so much more than making art; they are about our hearts and how to keep us connected.
Zoom has become Shelley’s international, viral studio, connecting families and friends all over the world. These times can be incredibly isolating for people and we are all seeking ways to express our creativity. In this period of wearing masks, social distancing and learning a new language of being, family has never felt more important — especially the love of grandparents.
Because the art classes are virtual, they can be set up from any locale in the USA. Classes are an hour long. Shelley will tell you what supplies you and your g-kids will need to bring to class. Simply contact her at: 323.528.6182, shelleytheartist.com, or Instagram @shelleytheartist. And, remember, share your art with us!
*Originally from London, Shelley Levy has lived in Los Angeles for many years. Her art has been commissioned by LAX, Trader Joe’s, Melrose Trading Post, Sony Pictures and most recently, The Farmer’s Market at the Grove.
