We love sharing delicious recipes for our GPL readers so we thought we would get you set up with our top 5 Fall recipes to get you excited about the season change! Totally simple and will not disappoint!Â
1. Orecchiette with Brown Butter, Broccoli, Pine Nuts and Basil*
Brown butter is butter that is cooked until it takes on an amber brown color and nutty flavor. There’s nothing to it, but you’ll be amazed at what this extra step does for a simple pasta dish. Of course, the basil -which has the ability to take a good recipe and make it better -doesn’t hurt, either. Cooked shrimp or chicken can be added to the pasta. (Omit the nuts if there’s someone with a nut allergy.)
2. Applesauce Cake
An amazingly delicious, old fashioned Applesauce Cake recipe! It’s a super soft and moist cake, similar to carrot cake but rather with a light apple flavor and plenty of autumn spices!
3. Drizzled Chocolate Apples*
As a child, candied apples were always major treats for our family. Every fall and into the holiday season, the highlight was going to the fifth grade teacher’s house and getting a delicious caramel apple that she made especially for her students. The following recipes are a different take on the caramel apples, using chocolate instead, and will delight any child, or, adult, and add to your holiday desserts.
4. Farmhouse Herbed Stuffing
The beauty of this American classic is its adaptability, as it can be endlessly enhanced. If you wish, use one of the variations below or experiment to create your own specialty. This recipe makes enough stuffing for the Classic (stuffed) Roast Turkey; serves eight people when baked as a side dish. If you’re making a larger turkey, you’ll want to scale up this recipe accordingly.
5. Mixed Green Dip
Well, well, old man Winter may have visited today, but what if you have company coming over? Need great dip recipes? Here’s one that’s healthful & yummy, and one that is fabulous, but maybe not as healthy. You figure out which is which… Happy Holidays!
